Schroders' Parbrook to step back from giant Asia fund

Schroders' Parbrook to step back from giant Asia fund

Citywire A-rated Robin Parbrook will hand over responsibility for the Schroder ISF Asian Opportunities fund to Citywire + rated Toby Hudson, Schroders has confirmed.

This comes as Parbrook, who is the co-head of Asian equity alternative investments, is set to relocate to the London office from Hong Kong.

He will continue to work with Schroders’ Asian Equities team and manage his other funds in partnership with King Fuei Lee.

Hudson will act as co-manager on the fund from 1 May 2017 before assuming full responsibility for the fund on 1 January 2018.

Parbrook and Hudson have worked together for over 20 years and there will be no changes to the investment objective of the funds.

Commenting on the change, Parbrook said: ‘I am pleased that Toby is taking on responsibility for Schroders ISF Asian Opportunities. I believe the key to our success has been a clearly defined philosophy, a robust investment process and a strong team culture. These fundamentals will not change.’

Over three years to the end of March 2017, the Schroder ISF Asian Opportunities fund returned 61.3%. This compares to a rise of 48.7% by the Asia Pacific ex-Japan sector average.
