Sir Martin Sorrell exclusive interview

Citywire had a chat with Sir Martin Sorrell chief executive of WPP in our London TV studio yesterday.

Sir Martin who built WPP up from a shopping basket maker (Wire and Plastic Products) to the world's largest advertising and marketing services group through a series of audacious takeover bids, was open and a little mischievous at times in this brief but wide ranging interview with Citywire chairman Lawrence Lever.

He talks about lessons learned, problems for Facebook and Google, lack of co-operation from Amazon, fig leaf excuses WPP sometimes gets from the new media giants, the bullish future for wealth management, his view of active fund management and what he does with his own (not inconsiderable) money.

Throw in a bit of China and the balance between digital and traditional advertising and that is about it from this eight minute film.
