T Rowe Price names new responsible investing research head

T Rowe Price has hired Maria Elena Drew as the firm’s director of responsible investing research.

In this role, Drew will lead and expand the T Rowe Price’s research on environmental, social and governance (ESG) considerations. She will focus on incorporating ESG analysis into the firm’s investment decisions.

Drew will be partnered with Donna Anderson, head of corporate governance, and they will work with the firm’s investment teams to develop and integrate an ESG framework across geographies and asset classes.

She will report to Rob Sharps, group chief investment officer and co-head of global equity, and will be based in London.

Before joining T Rowe Price, Drew worked at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, where she spent nine years as an equity analyst, portfolio manager and ESG specialist.

‘Environmental, social and governance factors are important in any comprehensive investment research process,’ said Sharps.

‘We are pleased to have someone of Maria’s calibre and experience on our team to further develop and integrate ESG considerations into our investment process.’
