Threadneedle hires Citigroup’s global macro strategy director

Threadneedle hires Citigroup’s global macro strategy director

Threadneedle Investments has strengthened its multi-asset team by recruiting a strategist from Citigroup.

Maya Bhandari joins as an investment strategist, reporting to Threadneedle’s head of multi-asset allocation Toby Nangle.

Bhandari was formerly a director of global macro strategy and asset allocation at Citigroup, and before that was head of emerging market analysis at Lombard Street.

‘I am thrilled that Maya has joined the team,’ Nangle (pictured) said.

‘She has a strong track record in calling markets and economic developments ahead of the pack and her appointment will strengthen further Threadneedle’s excellence in active asset allocation.’

Around 40% of Threadneedle’s assets are currently held in some form of asset allocation mandate, and Bhandari’s recruitment follows the hire of Craig Nowrie from Aon Hewitt in June.
