Three quit Invesco to join Woodford

Three quit Invesco to join Woodford

A fund manager and two analysts have resigned from Invesco Perpetual and are expected to become Woodford Investment Management’s next recruits.

Stephen Lamacraft was co-manager of the Invesco Pan European Equity Income fund alongside Citywire AA-rated Stephanie Butcher. The sub-£50 million fund has returned a top-decile 53.8% over the past three years, compared with 31% from the MSCI Europe index.

Lamacraft became responsible for the UK equities element of the fund last year, and his responsibilities will be assumed by James Goldstone, working alongside AAA-rated Mark Barnett, AAA-rated Martin Walker and AA-rated Ciaran Mallon.

Also leaving Invesco Perpetual are analysts Saku Saha and Paul Lamacraft. Their duties have been primarily taken over by Frederick Bouverat, whom Wealth Manager revealed had been hired from Numis in March.

The latest hires for Woodford’s new venture follow that of Russell Harrop, the former director of global equity sales at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, as exclusively reported by Wealth Manager earlier this week.

The quartet make up the four-strong team that Wealth Manager also revealed would be supporting A-rated Woodford (pictured) on his new fund.
