Towry targets football & cricket stars via new alliance

Towry has formed an alliance with Newcastle-based sports agency Quantum Sport giving it access to a range of sporting stars from the football, cricket and rugby worlds.

Advisers based in Towry's Edinburgh office, which includes former professional footballer Peter Cormack, will look to create lifetime financial plans to guide these stars through their sporting careers.

Founded in 2008, Quantum is the sports agency of legal firm Quantum Law.

Sports stars on its books include England and Durham cricketer Graham Onions and his New Zealand counterpart Tom Latham.

Premier league footballers Callum Williams of Newcastle and Sunderland's Duncan Watmore are also among its clients.

Commenting on the alliance, Cormack said: 'During my time as a professional footballer, I saw first-hand the consequences for those who did not receive the correct financial advice, and the impact it had on both their playing careers and financial future.

‘We look forward to engaging with many clients from Quantum Sport and providing access to our exceptional financial planning and wealth management services.’

Quantum solicitor and agent James Welch added: ‘One of the key factors in our decision to form this partnership was Peter’s previous football experience, as he understands the potential financial problems for sportspeople who don’t receive the right advice.’
