UBS Wealth Management has hired Richard Wood from Barclays Wealth to bolster its Leeds office.
Wood has been appointed as a client adviser. He previously spent 10 years at Barclays, where he worked as a portfolio manager.
He started his career as a fund manager at Investec, where he was responsible for managing portfolios for high net worth clients, charities and trusts.
Karan Sejpal, regional head, North West and Yorkshire, said: 'UBS continues to go from strength to strength in Yorkshire. Local entrepreneurship continues to flourish and there’s a positive mood among businesses in the region. Almost three quarters of UBS’s clients at a recent event told us they feel confident about economic growth in the region this year.
'We are constantly on the lookout for the best talent. Richard’s experience in the region makes him the perfect fit to join our growing team.'
The expansion of the Leeds office comes after UBS announced plans to double its headcount in Edinburgh and relocated to new premises.
