Walker Crips hires four investment managers

Walker Crips has recruited a further four investment managers in recent months following the hires of Barclays brokers Steven Moss and Mark Entwistle and Charles Stanley broker John Fletcher.

The hires were revealed in an interim management statement from the business, with no further details. The company, headed by Rodney Fitzgerald (pictured), was not immediately available for comment.

At 8.35, shares in Walker Crips were up 2% at 48p.

‘During the quarter, our investment management division further expanded its team with the recruitment of seven investment managers whose clients and revenues will have an impact in subsequent quarters,’ it said in a statement.

In what the company described as ‘quieter market conditions’ net group revenue rose 12.2% to £3.6 million from £3.2 million previously. Discretionary and advisory assets were up 3% over the three months and 28% on the year at £1.37 billion.

‘Although trading conditions remain uncertain, the board believes that its strategy for asset and revenue growth will continue to deliver positive results over the medium term,’ the company added.
