Walker Crips hires more Barclays talent & 30-year JM Finn veteran

Walker Crips hires more Barclays talent & 30-year JM Finn veteran

Two more stockbrokers have left Barclays Wealth for Walker Crips, following the path beaten by two of their colleagues last month, while the firm has also taken on a JM Finn veteran.

Ian Amiee has become an associate at Walker Crips, joining after a 30-year stint as a stockbroker at JM Finn.

He has moved to the wealth manager alongside Billy Newton, who had worked at Barclays since 2008, and Andrew Powell who had been there from 2010.

Both had earlier been colleagues at stockbrokers Beaufort Securities and SVS Securities, and Powell also spent two years between 2008 and 2010 at Henderson Rowe.

Walker Crips revealed another double hire from Barclays last month, snapping up Steven Moss and Mark Entwistle for stockbroking positions.

Moss had spent 20 years at Barclays, rising to deputy head of advisory stockbroking, and Entwistle had served five years at the bank on its advisory dealing team in London.

At the end of June Walker Crips also confirmed the appointment of John Fletcher as another stockbroker; Fletcher had had the same role at Charles Stanley for the prior 12 years, focusing on derivatives and exchange-traded products.

Rodney FitzGerald, the Walker Crips chief executive, said that the recruitment drive – seven investment managers were hired in just the three months to 30 June – ‘demonstrates our commitment to offering the very best advice and service to our expanding client base’ and was ‘in direct response to increasing demand from our clients’.
