Walker Crips in double hire from Barclays

Walker Crips in double hire from Barclays

Walker Crips has boosted its stockbroking team with a double hire from Barclays.

Steven Moss and Mark Entwistle join Walker Crips as stockbrokers. Their departures follow a raft of redundancies and high profile exits from Barclays Wealth & Investment Management division, which has undergone significant change since Peter Horrell took on the chief executive role last year and instigated a strategic review.

Moss has left Barclays, after a 20-year stint at the firm. He began his career in the bank's Glasgow office before moving to London, where he later became deputy head of advisory stockbroking, working with private clients, trusts and charities.

Entwistle spent the past five years at Barclays after graduating from Durham University. After a period in the Monaco office, he joined their advisory dealing team in London. Entwistle specialises in short-term trading ideas in equities and contracts for difference.

Moss and Entwistle's arrival follows Walker Crips's recent hire of stockbroker John Fletcher from Charles Stanley.

Rodney FitzGerald, chief executive of Walker Crips, said: 'The growth of our advisory and advisory managed investment division is in direct response to increasing demand from our clients. This is an interesting time for Walker Crips as we celebrate our centenary year and continue with our expansion plans.'
