What Stephen Lansdown said day before news of £190m HL sale

Hargreaves Lansdown (HL) co-founder Stephen Lansdown paid Citywire a visit last week.

He talked about a range of subjects, from the state of the investment management industry to Channel-based boutique Ravenscroft, where serves as chair.

Lansdown also talked about HL, in which he still holds a major stake. He stressed that he had to be careful when discussing the holding as it is market sensitive information

The very next day it emerged Lansdown, who also chairs Bristol City, had sold a £190 million chunk of his holding, coincidently almost the same price PSG paid Barcelona for Brazilian superstar footballer Neymar…!

This is what Lansdown had to say about the firm he famously founded alongside Peter Hargreaves from a spare bedroom in 1981, hours before the news of the sale broke.
