Whitechurch Securities’ has replaced outgoing head of research Ben Willis with Citywire Top 30 Under 30 2018 finalist Jonathan Moyes.

Willis, who had been at the company for 12 years, has left to join Chase De Vere as its head of portfolio management.

Commenting on the appointment, Chase de Vere chief Stephen Kavanagh said: ‘We need to ensure that our discretionary model portfolio service is a market-leading proposition and that it will provide significant benefits to our clients.'

He added: ‘By recruiting Ben, as head of portfolio management, we are taking a big step forwards in achieving this. He is hugely experienced at establishing and managing successful investment portfolios and with his positive and enthusiastic approach he is a great fit for Chase de Vere.’

Prior to joining Whitechurch, Willis (pictured) worked for boutique Chartwell House Asset Management.

He was part of the investment team that led boutique Whitechurch to win a string of industry awards including Citywire Wealth Manager’s Investment Performance awards 2014, 2015 and 2016.

Moyes has been a member of the Whitechurch investment team since 2011. Prior to joining Whirtechurch, he worked for Brewin Dolphin.

In his new role, he will be one of the senior managers in the Whitechurch investment team, jointly responsible for making key decisions on fund selection and asset allocation.

Whitchurch also announced that it would be strengthening its investment team further with the addition of a research analyst.

Last summer the firm appointed Tom Sayers as a senior investment manager.
