Why Witan won't be taking off the gearing just yet

Andrew Bell, chief executive of the £1.5 billion Witan Investment Trust, tells Wealth Manager why he's not taking the gearing completely out of his fund just yet.

Over the past year Witan has returned 14.1%, ahead of the average of 11.6% for the AIC Global sector, thanks in part to the use of gearing to boost exposure to the worldwide equity rally.

But taking account of recent market turbulence, Bell also explains why he has been buying into several value strategies.
