Nutmeg appoints ex-Gerrard man as non-exec

Low-cost online discretionary manager Nutmeg has appointed Stephen Clark as a non-executive director.

Clark joins Nutmeg with considerable director-level experience across firms, such as Oppenheimer International, Gerrard Investment Management and Moscow Narodny Bank / VTB Capital, where he also became chairman.

Nutmeg co-founder and chief executive, Nick Hungerford (pictured), commented: 'Stephen has over 40 years’ experience in wealth management, investment banking, stockbroking and fund management.

'He will bring immense knowledge and unique insight to our business. In particular, his track record in leading large organisations through expansion and change will be hugely important to Nutmeg as we continue to grow.'

Clark is also a freeman of the City of London and spent 27 years at NatWest in a variety of senior strategic roles.

The appointment of Clark follows that of Nigel Wray, chairman of Saracens rugby club, who has made a significant investment in Nutmeg, alongside economist John Kay, R Todd Ruppert, Klaus Hommels, Daniel Aegerter and Tim Draper.
