Osborne takes to Twitter and pledges to tackle economy head-on
by Sarah Miloudi on Mar 20, 2013 at 10:57
George Osborne has taken to Twitter with a pledge to tackle Britain's economic woes 'head-on'.
In his first ever Tweet, the chancellor said his Budget would 'tackle the economy's problems head-on, helping those who want to work hard and get on'.
As Osborne's account appeared on site, the under pressure chancellor appeared to be putting the final touches on his Budget day speech.
It will be one of the most closely followed statements of the year when Osborne unveils his Budget proposals at 12.30.
He will outline the progress made so far on kick-starting growth, his plans to support the recovery and tackle hot issues like corporate tax avoidance in the UK.
