Overnight Markets: Internet and small-cap shares lift Wall Street

The MSCI Asia Pacific Index was little changed at 139 as of 10:56 a.m. in Tokyo. Japan’s Topix index rose 0.3%, rebounding from a one-month low. South Korea’s Kospi index lost 0.4%. Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 Index and New Zealand’s NZX 50 Index both slipped 0.4%.

Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index climbed 0.7%, while Shanghai Composite Index added 0.4%. Taiwan’s Taiex index advanced 0.3%. Singapore’s Straits Times Index added 0.1% after the nation’s gross domestic product expanded an annualised 2.3% in the three months through March from the previous quarter.
