Overnight Markets: Most US stocks gain despite Apple’s slump

The MSCI Asia Pacific Index rose 0.4% to 132 as of 10:52 a.m. in Tokyo. Japan’s Topix Index gained 1.7% today, set for its 11th weekly advance, the longest such winning streak since January 1973.

Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 Index rose 0.5%, advancing for an eighth day, its longest winning streak in almost three years. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index rose 0.2% and China’s Shanghai Composite Index gained 0.3%.

South Korea’s Kospi Index lost 0.8% after Kia Motors Corp. joined larger affiliate Hyundai Motor Co. in posting falling profit last quarter.
