Overnight Markets: US stocks fall on Budget concerns

Facebook Inc. climbed 2.7% after Citigroup Inc.’s Mark May raised his recommendation on the social-network operator to buy from neutral.
CarMax Inc. gained 3.6% after the car dealer’s second-quarter profit beat analyst estimates as used car sales climbed 20% from a year ago.
In Asia, shares declined on Wednesday after US consumer confidence slumped in September to a four-month low.
The MSCI Asia Pacific Index fell 0.2% to 140 as of 10:24 a.m. in Hong Kong. Japan’s Topix (TPX) index and South Korea’s Kospi index both lost 0.6%.
Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 Index and New Zealand’s NZX 50 Index advanced 0.8%. Taiwan’s Taiex Index retreated 0.4% and Singapore’s Straits Times Index added 0.4%.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index gained 0.3% and China’s Shanghai Composite climbed 0.2%.
