Overnight Markets: Wall Street declines on stimulus speculation

In Asia, most stocks declined on Friday in late morning trade as speculation the US Fed will reduce stimulus in coming months overshadowed improving China manufacturing data.
The MSCI Asia Pacific Index slid 0.4% to 142 as of 11:31 a.m. in Tokyo. Japan’s Topix index lost 0.8% and Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 Index fell 0.1%. Singapore’s Straits Times Index declined 0.3% and Taiwan’s Taiex Index retreated 0.5%.
New Zealand’s NZX 50 Index gained 0.2%. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index slipped 0.1% and China’s Shanghai Composite lost 0.2%. South Korea’s Kospi Index rose 0.2%.
