Overnight Markets: Wall Street falls on Portugal's bank woes

The MSCI Asia Pacific Index slid 0.3% to 146 as of 9:32 a.m. in Hong Kong. Japan’s Topix Index fell 0.5%. South Korea’s Kospi index lost 0.7%. Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 Index gained 0.2%, while New Zealand’s NZX 50 Index declined 0.5%. Markets in Thailand are closed for a holiday today.

Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index slid 0.4%, while Shanghai Composite Index and Taiwan’s Taiex Index dropped 0.2%. Singapore’s Straits Times Index advanced 0.3%.
