Overnight Markets: Wall Street jumps on China exports

In Asia, shares gained on Tuesday in morning trade ahead of reports on China’s industrial production and retail sales that are forecast to show the second-largest economy is rebounding.
The MSCI Asia Pacific Index rose 0.8% to 137 as of 10:39 a.m. in Tokyo. In Hong kong, Hang Seng Index climbed 0.8%. Japan’s Topix index rose 1%.
South Korea’s Kospi index and New Zealand’s NZX 50 Index both advanced 0.4%. Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 Index increased 0.5%. China’s Shanghai Composite Index and Taiwan’s Taiex Index both slipped 0.2%. Singapore’s Straits Times Index gained 0.5%.
