Quilter adds to fast-expanding Edinburgh team

Quilter has beefed up its presence in Edinburgh with the hire of David Soutar.

Soutar has over 25 years' experience in investment management and has held a number of senior roles within the sector, including his most recent position as joint managing partner at Castlefield Investments when he ran a range of portfolios for charities, pension schemes and private investors.

Soutar's appointment is the latest in a string at Quilter Edinburgh, following the opening of the branch in January.  Over the past year it has brought on board Alan Aitchison to head the office, while Mark Hallam and Scott Peebles joined as investment managers.

Commenting on his team's latest addition, Aitchison said: 'Being able to add David to our team is a tremendous boost and his experience and expertise will be a considerable benefit to our clients.'

The hire comes as Quilter is engaged in exclusive talks with Cheviot about a merger.
