Quilter Cheviot & Brooks Macdonald make senior Jersey hires

Quilter Cheviot and Brooks Macdonald have enhanced their Jersey businesses with key hires.

Ex-Credit Suisse head of intermediaries Mo Blauchi joins Quilter Cheviot as a business director.

He will work with intermediaries, introducers and high net worth private clients alongside Quilter Cheviot's existing Jersey-based business development executive Chris Scott.

Jersey office head Tim Childe said: 'Mo is a welcome addition to the team here. His appointment is a reflection of our growth during 2013 and our confidence in relation to growth prospects for the future.'

Chief executive Martin Baines described the Jersey office’s 2013 growth as ‘stellar’ and said it had helped the business nationally break the £15 billion barrier for funds under management

Meanwhile Brooks Macdonald International (BMI) has also expanded its Jersey office with the hire of Lindsay Bateman as senior business development manager.

Bateman was previously at Ermitage Group where he held a similar role, and will be responsible for targeting new business opportunities across the international professional adviser markets.

BMI chief executive John Davey said: 'Lindsay’s recruitment demonstrates our continued commitment to growing the business in the Channel Islands and internationally and we are particularly excited by his excellent contacts throughout Africa.'

'We are confident that Lindsay has the right skills and experience to help us as we continue to develop business opportunities in lucrative new territories.'
