Quilter Cheviot boosts Edinburgh arm with Turcan Connell hire

Quilter Cheviot has bolstered its Edinburgh division with the hire of Neil MacPherson from Turcan Connell.
MacPherson, who has more than 30 years' experience, started his career at Edinburgh Investment Trust as a fund manager before moving on to Standard Life where he worked on overseas markets.
He then joined Life Association of Scotland Investment Management Limited, where he was responsible for overseas investment andalso had spells at Brewin Dolphin and Edward Jones.
MacPherson, who joins as an investment director, said in a statement: 'The firm has performed consistently and there is a lot of experience, both in Edinburgh and across the wider business... [I am] looking forward to being able to use my knowledge of global equities markets to help Quilter Cheviot’s clients.'
Quilter Cheviot Edinburgh head Alan Aitchison added: 'We operate in an incredibly competitive environment and to have someone of Neil’s calibre join us underlines our expertise and quality to the market.'
