Rathbones continues Edinburgh rebuild with Adam & Co hire

Rathbones has strengthened its branch in Edinburgh with the recruitment of an associate from Adam & Company.

Peter McCallum has joined Rathbones in the city as an investment manager, the latest of several recent hires to the office.

McCallum will work with regional director John Henderson (pictured) and Edinburgh deputy head Andrew Mackintosh-Walker, with the team managing £280 million of private client, charity, trust and pension portfolios.

McCallum had worked at Adam since September 2010, in a role supporting the firm’s senior investment managers in the running of private client portfolios. He had responsibility for liaising with brokers and provided coverage of the UK market. He holds the CISI Certificate in Private Client Investment Advice & Management and the CFA Certificate in Investment Management.

McCallum’s move follows that of Euan MacDonald from Barclays Wealth & Investment to Rathbones in Edinburgh in March.

It is a further blow to Adam too, which earlier this year also lost senior investment manager and associate director Mike Gore. He was poached by Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management to rebuild its office in Edinburgh alongside John James from Blackadders.

The hiring of McCallum and MacDonald will replenish the depleted Rathbones team in Edinburgh, after its deputy regional director Chris Sutton defected to Aubrey Capital Management and investment director Tim Wishart switched to Psigma Investment Management.
