RBC hires HSBC charity head for 'significant' growth opportunity

RBC Wealth Management is scaling up its charity offer with the appointment of HSBC director Nick Reid to a new head of charities role.

Reid has worked in the private client industry since 1988 and has held a variety of senior roles, including a spell as head of charities at Cazenove between 2001 and 2003. For the last four years he has held a similar role for HSBC Global Asset Management.

In his new capacity Reid will report to RBC’s head of UK private clients Philip Harris.

RBC believes charities represent a ‘significant’ opportunity for growth from the London office.

‘The charity sector represents a significant growth opportunity for our London business in line with our strategic plans,’ said Mike Moodie, head of RBC Wealth Management UK.

‘Nick will be tasked with accelerating the growth of our existing charities book as well as drawing on the significant expertise that our trust and fiduciary services business has in the sector. Nick’s experience makes him a great addition to the team.’
