RBC Wealth hires HSBC Private Bank's Ellis as investment head
by Elsa Buchanan on Jul 17, 2013 at 10:02
RBC Wealth Management has appointed Daniel Ellis as head of investments for the UK.
He will replace former Cover Star Tracy Maeter (pictured), who left the company in March to return to JP Morgan as its inaugural head of investments for private clients in the UK.
Ellis joins from HSBC Private Bank, where he was most recently a managing director and head of the private bank investment group for the UK and Channel Islands, managing £12 billion of client assets.
Previously, Ellis had spells in Jersey, working for Fleming and Lloyds TSB.
In his new capacity, which includes the UK and Channel Islands, Ellis will oversee the implementation and delivery of wealth management investment solutions, working in partnership with the British Isles-based distribution and trust teams.
Starting on 1 October and based in London, he will also join the British Isles and Caribbean operating committee for RBC Wealth Management.
Ellis will report to chief executive Stuart Rutledge, who said in a statement: ‘Our ability to deliver an integrated offering to high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients is heavily reliant on the strength of our Investments platform.
[Ellis] is a very experienced investment professional, and is perfectly placed to help execute our growth strategy.’
