Russell hires Kempen's Sturkenboom for multi-asset ambition

Russell Investments has appointed Wouter Sturkenboom to its global investment strategy team, to help boost the firm’s multi asset capabilities.

Sturkenboom, who arrives from Kempen Capital Management in Amsterdam, joins as an investment strategist in Russell’s team of seven, and will be responsible for providing economic analysis as well as capital market insight.

In his previous role at Kempen, Sturkenboom was a senior investment strategist responsible for overseeing the tactical and strategic asset allocation for institutional and private clients, as well as providing investors with market commentary and economic analysis.

Andrew Pease, global head of investment strategy for Russell Investments, said: ‘Wouter’s appointment strongly enhances our ability to provide thoughtful and practical investment advice and multi-asset solutions to our clients in Europe and globally.’

Russell has also recently bolstered its offering in the UK wholesale market, with the launch of its Emerging Market Debt Local Currency fund.

Earlier in the year, the firm announced the launch of two multi-asset, outcome-oriented funds, targeting advisers with two products offering capital growth and income respectively.
