Salamanca bolsters property arm with key hire
on Apr 24, 2014 at 10:37
Salamanca Group has strengthened its ranks with the appointment of Craig Hallam as head of property services.
In this newly created role, Hallam will be responsible for property related services including acquisitions, sales, individual property or portfolio management and survey and valuation reports.
Previously, he was a business development director for LSL Property Services where he was responsible for the development of corporate relationships, after spells in a similar role at Hometrack, a data provider in the residential property market, and as a property director at Clearsprings Management,a private sector residential services organisation.
Hallam will work closely with the firm's trust business, boosted by its acquisition of Investec's offshore trust business which completed in February, alongside the merchant bank's newly launched family office team.
Commenting on the appointment, Martin Bellamy, chief executive and former Wealth Manager cover star (pictured), said: 'Craig’s extensive track record in advising families and businesses on efficient property management will enhance the overall range of services offered by Salamanca Group making it a single provider focused on developing long-term relationships built on trust and honesty.
'With Craig’s appointment and the recent addition of a head of family office services to spearhead the provision of global family office services, Salamanca Group is further increasing its group service lines to deliver clients’ personal and strategic objectives across the board.'
In March, the group hired Barclays Wealth & Investment Management wealth advisory head Catherine Grum, who joined as group head of family office services, leading the delivery of wealth structuring, succession planning and relocation solutions to the bank’s ultra high net worth client base.
Prior to this, in January, the group appointed Martin Devenish, a former Goldman Sachs man, as group head of strategy and main board director.
