Sanlam Private Investments has hired four ex-Brewin Dolphin investment managers for a new Teesside office.
This will be in addition to existing northern offices in Newcastle, Harrogate and Kirkby Lonsdale.
The new hub will be fronted by Jonty Warneken, head of intermediary services North - who is based in the Harrogate office - along with the four investment managers and two administrative staff.
The quartet worked for Brewin Dolphin until a rationalisation of the firm's regional operation resulted in the closure of the Teesside office in September.
The hires include Sheila Tindle, who was a divisional director and head of Brewin Dolphin's Teesside office. Prior to this she was a director of Wise Speke’s Middlesbrough office and an assistant director of Allied Provincial Stockbrokers.
She will be joined by Steve Richardson, who has over 30 years in the financial services industry, most recently as a divisional director at Brewin Dolphin.
Richardson began his career at Sun Alliance Insurance Group, and has also worked for Stancliffe Todd and Hodgson, where he headed up their financial planning subsidiary and also at Allied Provincial Stockbrokers, Greig Middleton, Gerrard and Barclays Wealth.
John Pearson, who has worked for Allied Provincial Stockbrokers, Gerrard, Barclays Wealth is also joining from Brewin Dolphin where he was a divisional director in Teesside.
Mark McMullan who has worked for over 15 years as an investment manager, first with Lloyds Private Banking and then with Brewin Dolphin, completes the hires.
In a separate appointment, Sanlam has recruited Helen Johnson, who is joining the Newcastle office from the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments, where she worked as a consultant to their regulatory and investment panels.
