Sanlam Private Investments launches execution only service
by Dylan Lobo on Sep 16, 2013 at 10:33
Sanlam Private Investments (SPI) has launched an execution only platform, which includes a landmark contracts for difference service (CFDs).
SPI Direct offers clients a variety of tax efficient platforms where they can access and trade major global markets 24 hours a day during the trading week.
Clients will also have the capacity to spread or trade CFDs on all major asset classes with the option to use a bespoke CFD Sipp trading account aimed at sophisticated investors who would like to take control over part, or all, of their pension pots.
SPI Direct says it will offer market leading spreads, exceptionally low margin requirements and no commission, on all major financial asset classes including individual stocks, forex, exchange traded funds, commodities, bonds and interest rate products through its multi-functional platform.
The service is accompanied by a suite of learning tools and practice trading, enabling clients who are new to spread trading to build expertise on a free demo account with £10,000 of virtual funds.
Commenting on the launch of SPI Direct, chief executive Craig Massey said: 'This is a very exciting development for Sanlam Private Investments. This means that we can now offer clients a broader range of international investment opportunities on both a self-execution or advisory basis, or a combination of the two.
'This is also significant because this is the first time we have entered into the spread trading and CFD market in the UK.'
Execution only services have emerged as a key growth area in recent years, with stockbrokers such as Charles Stanely grabbing a share of the market.
According to the latest data from ComPeer, execution only assets grew to a record £103 billion during the second quarter of the year.
