Schroders appoints ex-Invista CEO as property head
on Nov 01, 2013 at 14:19
Duncan Owen is to succeed William Hill as head of property at Schroders.
Owen, former chief executive of Invista who led its IPO, joined Schroders Property Investment Management in January 2012. He will remain chairman of the company’s investment committee.
He will manage the Guernsey-based Schroder Real Estate Investment trust, which was launched in 2004. It has traded on a premium since the summer, and is now around 485p with an 8.3% premium at Thursday's closing price.
Hill is stepping back to become an adviser to Schroders on its property division after 22 years at the helm.
He said: ‘After almost 25 years at Schroders, I feel that it is time for me to hand over the reins of the property business to Duncan.
‘I look forward to continuing to help Schroders in my new role as an adviser to the firm, assisting most immediately with the proposed lease of One London Wall Place, which was announced yesterday.’
