SGPB Hambros hires nine for advisory launch

Societe Generale Private Banking Hambros (SGPB Hambros) has hired nine for the launch of a new advisory division.

The hires increase the number of professionals in the division, headed by Jeremie Vuillard, to 12.

The division is based across three locations; UK, Gibraltar and Channel Islands.

It will advise both on general and specialist areas such as equities, bonds, structured products, funds and other asset classes. Each adviser will be assigned to a team of private bankers.

Commenting on the strategy and expansion, Eric Barnett (pictured), former Wealth Manager cover star and SGPB Hambros chief executive, said in a statement: 'The new advisory division demonstrates our ongoing commitment to place clients at the centre of the business. The new hires, who between them speak French, Arabic and Russian, will ensure that we continue to meet the specific needs of our domestic and international clients.'

The wealth management arm of Societe Generale Private Banking also said it intends to bolster the new advisory team with additional UK domestic advisers in the coming weeks.
