Standard Life Investments (SLI) has appointed Rickey Thevakarrunai as a fund analyst in its multi manager research team.
Thevakarrunai will work in the London-based Fund Solutions team, reporting to Bambos Hambi (pictured), head of fund of funds management at the firm.
Prior to joining SLI, Thevakarrunai was a portfolio analyst at Pimco and has also worked at State Street Global Advisors.
In his new role, Thevakarrunai will be joining the team responsible for finding and monitoring funds that could form part of the MyFolio range.
The team also analyses funds for inclusion in portfolios run by Standard Life Wealth and the Quality and Choice range that is managed by Standard Life’s UK business.
Hambi said: ‘Given the structure of our Multi-Manager funds and particularly MyFolio, it is vital that we have the right people in place to research over 6000 authorised funds available in the investment universe.
‘Rickey’s appointment means we now have a team of eight in the research team, making it one of the biggest in the industry.
‘This sends a clear message to the market that we have the right level of commitment and the appropriate amount of resources to grow the Multi-Manager business even further in the future and to continue to meet investors’ needs.’
The MyFolio range reported third quarter sales of £2.6 billion.
