SLI's Lance Phillips to lead LGIM's active equities push
by Sarah Miloudi on Sep 14, 2012 at 15:37
Lance Phillips will head Legal & General Investment Management's (LGIM) active equities team.
Phillips will join LGIM early next year and report to chief executive officer Mark Zinkula.
He joins from Standard Life Investments (SLI), which recently lost three of its multi-asset team members to Invesco Perpetual. Phillips' departure from the Edinburgh-based global investment firm was announced at the same time.
'He brings a wealth of industry experience and strong leadership skills, and is an excellent cultural fit for LGIM. I am confident that under his guidance we will continue to develop and grow our active equities business,' Zinkula said, commenting on Phillips' appointment.
During his time at SLI, Phillips was head of overseas and global equities. Prior to this he formed part of the UBS Asset Management team, where he was executive director of fund management.
Phillips said he is 'looking forward' to building on LGIM's existing strategy and its capabilities within active equities.
