Standard Life Investments hires Newton's Young as SRI head

Standard Life Investments (SLI) has added to their ethical offering with the appointment of Amanda Young as head of sustainable and responsible investment (SRI).
Young joins from Newton Investment Management where she was SRI officer, heading up SRI research and engagement on behalf of the firm’s institutional, retail, charity and private clients.
She sits on the board of the UK Sustainable Investment and Finance Association (UKSIF) and is also a member of the Market Committee Advisory Group of UKSIF.
Commenting on Young’s appointment, Rod Paris, chief investment officer for SLI, said: ‘We are delighted that Amanda has joined Standard Life Investments as head of SRI, adding to our already strong capability in this area.’
Prior to working for Newton, Young was the senior SRI analyst at specialist ethical fund managers CCLA Investment Management. Young began her career at Rabobank International in economic research after graduating from Lancaster University.
Commenting on her new role, Young said: ‘I am extremely pleased to join Standard Life Investments. Through our efforts I look forward to contributing to the development of the principles and standards of corporate responsibility.’
