Swip hires Aviva man to bolster UK equity team

Scottish Widows Investment Partnership (Swip) has strengthened its UK equity team with the appointment of Jeremy Charles as investment director.
Charles, who joins from Aviva Life where he was a senior portfolio manager, will be based at the group's Edinburgh office, reporting to UK equity head Peter Cockburn.
He will be involved in the management of the firm's core UK institutional and retail funds, including Citywire A-rated Cockburn's Swip UK Opportunities, Scottish Widows UK Select Growth and Swip UK Advantage funds.
Charles has more than 23 years' experience in asset management. Prior to Aviva Life, he worked for Shell Pensions, Shell Trust Bermuda Ltd and Canada Life.
