E-cigarette concerns to help nicotine gum business Revolymer
More concerns have emerged about the safety of e-cigarettes, in a further potential boost to Revolymer (REVO.L), the maker of nicotine gums to help people quit smoking.
Panmure Gordon analyst Savvas Neophytou says e-cigarettes, electronic inhalers that are meant as substitutes for normal cigarettes or cigars, could be seen as a threat to sales of nicotine gum.
And a study published in a French magazine – since picked up by Britain’s Daily Mail – has raised new safety fears about e-cigarettes, about which the health benefits and risks remain uncertain.
‘News today of new safety concerns regarding e-cigarettes should be seen as a positive for the nicotine gum business overall,’ commented Neophytou, reiterating Panmure’s ‘buy’ recommendation on Revolymer, a technology licensing business involved in many consumer goods.
Shares in Revolymer ended Tuesday trade flat at 57p.
