The global head of its fixed income division will be replaced by John Porter, who was formerly Barclays' global head of portfolio and liquidity management. He will become a member of AXA IM’s management board and report to CEO Andrea Rossi.
Commenting on Zemek's departure, Rossi said: 'I would like to take this opportunity to thank Theo [Zemek] for the very significant contribution she has made to our business.
'She joined us in the middle of one of the most challenging crises the financial world has ever experienced and under her leadership our fixed income business has grown to become a recognised industry leader and innovator with €380 billion in assets under management globally.'
The CEO added that he hoped Porter would help to oversee the next stage of growth in AXA IM's fixed income division. 'He has had a very diverse and hugely successful career and brings with him extensive experience from across the fixed income spectrum, as well as a strong understanding of the challenges facing our clients,' Rossi added.
