by Maryrose Fison on Jan 04, 2010 at 14:03

Financial advisory business Towergate Financial has announced its acquisition of wealth management and financial planning specialists K B Rollit & Co.

The Newark-based firm will form part of Towergate Financial’s Eastern region under the leadership of Paul Chafer, Towergate regional manager. KB Rollitt’s managing director Kevin Rollitt will become director of financial planning working alongside Chafer to grow the business.

Towergate Financial, which is the financial advisory business of Towergate Partnership, has already made ten acquisitions in the past two years and has aggressive plans to develop its business through further targeted acquisitions and organic growth.

Ian Darby, chief executive of Towergate Financial, said:. ‘I am delighted to welcome Kevin Rollitt and his team to Towergate Financial. K B Rollitt is a first class business that fits our profile of leading expertise, high quality financial planners, an exceptional client base and growth potential.’

Rollitt said he was looking forward to growing the business with the extra strength of Towergate.

'Joining forces with Ian and his team presents us with the ability to enhance our client proposition whilst maximising the growth opportunities available through organic development and further acquisitions,' he said.

This is interesting and I guess shows that Towergate is be back on the horse after a challenging 2009!! I have heard that they have reviewed more than 200 businesses. I know the Rollitt business which is very much a "New Model" firm. I would be keen to know where prices are currently for IFA firms - they surely must have fallen since the heady days of 2008.
