Towry hires ex-Newcastle player for Edinburgh office

National IFA Towry has signed an ex-footballer Pete Cormack as an adviser for its Edinburgh office.
Cormack, who spent 16 years as a defender in both the English and Scottish leagues and played for Newcastle United and Greenock Morton joins Towry from the Royal Bank of Scotland where he was a senior financial planning manager for ten years.
Cormack said: 'My professional footballing career across many Scottish clubs gave me a strong skill set for a position in financial services and I have built upon my playing career with a proven track record as an adviser. I’m looking forward to bringing these skills to new clients at Towry.'
Ross Cameron, wealth advice manager at Towry's Edinburgh office said there was a trend for former sports stars to break into the financial services market at the end of their playing careers.

His dad (Peter Cormack Snr) was one of the most underrated foorballers of his day.

Ps. I suppose it's not surprising to see ex Scottish players becoming financial advisors, because the Scots are if course, er how can I say, careful with money.
