Veritas Asset Management has boosted its private client team with another hire from Newton Private Investment Management (PIM).
Ross Ciesla joins the firm later in the year as a senior private client director. He formerly specialised in global equity and fixed interest stocks at Newton PIM, working across institutional, private unit trust, onshore pensions and private client and trust portfolios, having worked at the firm since 1998.
The hire follows that of Mark Rayward (above), who was formerly deputy chief executive at Newton and has since been replaced by Simon Pryke.
Alongside Rayward, Ciesla will join a raft of ex-Newton colleagues at Veritas, most notably Newton and Veritas founder Stewart Newton, Charles Richardson, Andy Headley and Ezra Sun.
Rayward recently joined Veritas to head and expand its UK private client division alongside Antony Rosenfelder and Meg Woods.
Commenting on the hire of Ciesla, chairman Stewart Newton, said: 'Ross is joining us at an exciting time for the firm and we very much look forward to working with him. His appointment coincides with and complements our ambition to further develop the UK private client business in a controlled and respectful manner and we believe he will be a fantastic addition to the team.'

Having known Stewart and many of his team from Newton Investment Managaement of old, the additions will provide a real alternative to the established names in the marketplace.
