by James Phillipps on Mar 03, 2014 at 12:23
Waverton Investment Management is looking to ramp up its American business with the hire of Lazard Capital Markets’ Andrew Vaughan-Payne as US sales director.
Vaughan-Payne, who worked in US equity sales at his previous firm, will be tasked with growing Waverton’s private clients, trusts, charities and specialist mandates business in the US. He has 16 years of experience in the industry having also previously worked at both Smith Barney and Morgan Stanley in equity sales.
Waverton chief executive Hugh Grootenhuis (pictured) said: ‘Andrew’s arrival builds on the success we are seeing in managing US clients’ money, both in the US and in the UK.
'We have looked after US clients for a number of years and are regularly approached by US based advisers, whose clients want to invest in global and European equity mandates.’
Vaughan-Payne added: ‘I have worked with the Waverton business for over a decade and thoroughly enjoy the culture and way they interact with clients. From my experience, I see a significant opportunity in the US for Waverton with their solid investment returns and intelligent approach. I am therefore very much looking forward to helping to grow this business.’
