'A necessary correction in the private sector debt overhang in developed economies has been offset by a burgeoning in public sector budget deficits, to levels which are likely to be unsustainable in the longer term.'
Witan trades at an 11% discount, which it manages through an active buyback policy.

'Witan’s portfolio has undergone significant changes since Andrew Bell was appointed CEO in February 2010, and all of the managers now have an active mandate, with no exposure to index trackers,' Cade said in a note to clients.
