Witan raises dividend for 38th consecutive year after strong 2012

'A necessary correction in the private sector debt overhang in developed economies has been offset by a burgeoning in public sector budget deficits, to levels which are likely to be unsustainable in the longer term.'

Witan trades at an 11% discount, which it manages through an active buyback policy.

For Numis' Charles Cade the trust is one of his favoured picks in the AIC's Global Growth sector, with the high conviction approach drawing him in.

'Witan’s portfolio has undergone significant changes since Andrew Bell was appointed CEO in February 2010, and all of the managers now have an active mandate, with no exposure to index trackers,' Cade said in a note to clients.
